Greek Independence Day

Today we celebrate the Independence Day of Greece

This day marks the beginning of the Greek War of Independence in 1821, when the Greek people started their struggle for freedom after centuries of Ottoman rule. It remains one of the most important national holidays in Greece.

Did you know?
Greek Independence Day is celebrated on the same day as the Greek Orthodox Feast of the Annunciation, giving the holiday both national and religious significance.

The Greek flag’s nine stripes are said to represent the nine syllables of the phrase meaning “Freedom or Death”, a famous motto of the revolution.

Greece is considered one of the birthplaces of democracy, philosophy, and many ideas that shaped the modern world.

We would like to extend our warm congratulations to our Greek colleagues, partners, and friends. Wishing you a proud and joyful Independence Day!
